By Air

  • Granada Airport (Federico García Lorca GRX): Small airport with flights from Madrid, Barcelona, Palma, and some international destinations (mainly in Europe).
  • Alternative: Málaga Airport (AGP): A major international hub, about 125 km from Granada. From Málaga, you can:
    • Take a direct bus (ALSA, ~1h45min)
    • Rent a car (~1h30 drive)
    • Take a train (via Málaga María Zambrano station)

By Train

  • From Madrid: High-speed AVE trains connect Madrid’s Atocha station to Granada in approx. 3.5 hours.
  • From Barcelona: Direct AVE train available, approx. 6.5 hours.
  • From Seville/Córdoba/Málaga: AVANT or Media Distancia trains run frequently, travel time 1.5–2.5 hours.

By Bus

  • ALSA» operates reliable long-distance buses across Spain.
    • From Madrid: ~5 hours
    • From Málaga: ~1.5–2 hours

  • Good roads connect Granada to major cities:
    • From Madrid: A-4 to A-44, ~4–5 hours
    • From Málaga: A-92, ~1.5 hours
    • From Seville: A-92, ~2.5–3 hours

Parking in the city center can be tricky—consider using public lots or hotels with parking.
